LEADING TEXAS IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF UTILITIES AND SITE PLUMBING SINCE 1984

E.W. (Wayne) Shelton founded the company in August, 1984 as a commercial plumbing, mechanical and utility company. Wayne started in the construction industry in 1970 as an apprentice plumber and progressed rapidly through the requirements of a journeyman plumber and eventually obtained his Master Plumbing License in 1974.

In the early part of the 1990's, his vision for long term growth and planning of the company lead him to decide to specialize in site plumbing and utilities i.e. water, sanitary sewer and storm drainage. This resulted in the company becoming a leader in commercial construction projects.
 
The company is no longer involved in interior plumbing or mechanical services. As the company moved in the direction of only doing utilities the decision was made to brand ourselves as SMPI.
